Jiah Khan was born on 20th February 1988 in New York, USA. Her mother Rabiya is an actress. Jiah Khan studied English literature and took acting lessons from Lee Strasberg's Institute, London, U K. Being a passionate singer Jiah Khan took formal training in classical opera. Besides acting, singing and playing piano, Jiah Khan is also an extremely good dancer. She is well trained in five different types of dances, namely, lambada, salsa, samba, belly dancing and Kathak.

Jiah Khan – The multi-faceted actress

Jiah Khan, the multi-faceted actress has a powerful screen presence and is very serious to make it big in Bollywood. Famous movie director Mahesh Bhatt had aptly commented saying, "She has real talent and a powerful screen presence. She is quick to learn and she's not just flirting with a career in the movies. She wants to make it to the top of the heap."

Just at the age of sixteen, she had decided to release her own album and almost recorded six pop numbers but the financial constraints put a leash on her musical dreams. Acting being her first love; Jiah Khan is totally concentrating on her acting career and is on the threshold of fulfilling her dreams with "Nishabd".

Her first film would have been Mahesh Bhatt's "Tumsa Nahin Dekha", starring Emraan Hashmi, but was dropped at the last moment for unknown reasons and her role went to Dia Mirza. As luck would have it, "Nishabd" came her way. It's a film about a girl in her teens, who falls in love with a 60-year old. The role is very challenging and a perfect opportunity for Jiah to prove her acting abilities.

Ever since the promos of Nishabd are out, with a nimble Jiah drenched in water, she has caught attention of the public eye and now the stunning actress is being flooded with offers.

“I have been getting a lot of offers,” says Jiah, “but I have not decided anything as yet.” Jiah recently got an offer from Sanjay Gadhvi of Dhoom and Dhoom 2 fame. As rumours have it, Jiah refused to work with Gadhvi as he did not divulge much about his upcoming project, which was simply not acceptable to Jiah.

But when we had a word with the actress, she confirmed, “I did get an offer from Sanjay Gadhvi, but I am yet to consider it.” Jiah hasn’t really turned down Sanjay Gadhvi’s offer.
